Art & Craft
The students actively participate in art and craft so as to refine
their aesthetic inclinations. Whether it is painting in various mediums,
or pot making, glass painting or rangoli, the skills of the students are
honed and chiseled into a creative whole.
School Activities
School activities have its remuneration when the parents partake
enthusiastically and whole-heartedly. Thankfully this has never been a
shortcoming at Saffron City School. Every year, the school engages the
students with assorted and multi-faceted activities, which have even the
laziest contestants happily involved. Amongst the regular curricular
activities that the students participate in are the various elocution
competitions, poster making, diva decorations, skits, dance competitions,
solo singing, group songs, carol singing, quiz, writing, rangoli, clay
modelling, collage making, calligraphy, and one minute games. Students
from the theatre workshopperiodically prepare plays for the entertainment
of the school. The school also celebrates and honours all festivals and
occassions whether it is Janam Ashtami or Gurpurub, Christmas or Lohri.
The school has an Annual Function either portraying its sports
achievements or its cultural achievements (Primary or Senior).
Games and Sports
The school lays a special emphasis on fitness and health training. No
student is allowed to remain absent from the playgrounds during the
assigned hour on any pretext other than confirmed sickness. The most
important thing in games is not to win but to participate, just as the
most important thing in life is not to triumph but to have fought well.
Sports form a vital and tntegral part of the school curricullum. The
students have a wide choice of Sports i.e. Cricket, Football, Basketball,
Badminton, Volleyball, Skating, Karate and Carrom and have participated in
state and district level competitions. The school has acquired medals at
various inter school and state level competitions. In the field of Roller
Skating and Table Soccer, the students have participated in All India and
National levels as well.
